Mantrailing Workshops
In- Person Workshops
Hands-on learning. Real-world trails. Unstoppable progress.
There’s nothing quite like being out there with your dog, learning in real time, side-by-side with an experienced mentor who can spot exactly what’s going on — and help you fix it right there on the trail.
In these workshops, you and your dog won’t just practice mantrailing — you’ll level up your teamwork, sharpen your skills, and walk away buzzing with confidence (and a clear plan to keep improving).
What you can expect:
- Small groups, big results – Never more than 6 handlers (usually 5), so you get plenty of one-to-one attention from an expert instructor.
- A personalised deep-dive – We’ll chat about your goals and challenges so every trail works toward what you want to achieve.
- Progressive, tailored trails – Designed around your dog’s needs and your current skill level.
- Real-time coaching – Immediate feedback as you work, plus in-depth discussion after each run.
- Recorded trails – Commentary and explanations on recordings of your trails to learn from after the event.
- Your next steps, mapped out – You’ll leave with a verbal summary and a progression plan that actually makes sense.
You’ll leave with:
- A sharper understanding of your dog’s behaviour, both on and off the trail.
- More confident, strategic handling skills.
- Clarity on when to step in, how to help, and what to do next.
- Better problem-solving skills as both a handler and an instructor.
Whether you’re stuck in a rut, want to push your skills further, or need fresh ideas to help your dog succeed — these workshops are where breakthroughs happen.

What is Mantrailing?
Mantrailing as a sport is the activity of training dogs to follow a specific person’s scent. The person is hidden at the end of the trail and has a reward for the dog.
What are Mantrailing Workshops?
Mantrailing workshops are hands-on training sessions where you and your dog learn and practice trailing skills together. These workshops cover scent theory, reading your dog’s body language, and building effective teamwork. All tailored to you as a team.
Why are Mantrailing Workshops Important?
They give you structured, expert-led training in real-world environments, helping you build confidence with support from one of the industries more experienced sports instructors, help problem-solve in the moment, and grow your dog’s skills more effectively than training alone. Having insight from more than just your normal instructor is important in order to build progress, and not get stuck in a rut.
How do Mantrailing Workshops Benefit you?
You’ll gain a deeper understanding of how your dog works, sharpen your observational skills, and learn how to better support your dog during a trail. They’re also a great opportunity to connect with a supportive community of like-minded handlers.
Do You Travel or do I Come to You?
Both! You can join me at a workshop I’m hosting—or I can travel to your location and run a workshop for your group when hosted.

What Kind of Workshop Do You Run?
I run a variety of workshops aimed to progressing teams. Some are general days of mantrailing at various locations around Oswestry and Wrexham. Others are goal oriented such as Mantrailing Mastery, Trailing Mechanics and themed days focusing on aspects of mantrailing such as casting or urban skills.
How can I Host You for a Workshop?
Drop me an email to trailingk9s@gmail.com or message me on the socials, I can then send you over the hosting document and arrange a chat for me to travel to you. I travel across the Globe. You can also host me for a workshop local to me for a private group of people.

Do you Train Mantrailing Instructors?

You Provide Tracking and Mantrailing, What is the Difference?
In short mantrailing focuses on finding the person at the end, tracking focuses on following where the trail is. Both complement each other and I provide both to help build good foundations in my mantrailing dogs. Check out my blog on the subject.
